Iran's Revolutionary Guard Senior Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh during a media brief explained the whole situation and offered apologies for the mistake committed by one of his guards for shooting down a Ukrainian passenger plane.

Meanwhile, Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran tweeted that his country deeply regrets the disastrous mistake, and said the internal investigation concluded that the missiles were fired due to human error which caused the Ukrainian plane crash.
