The press release by the Government of Michigan supports that Gretchen Whitner signed 'Stay Home Stay Safe' Executive Order.Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the order (EO 2020-21) on 23 March and directed all Michigan people to suspend all the businesses to suspend temporarily which are not necessary to sustain or protect life. The order stated that people should maintain at least feet social distancing. The order also stated that Michiganders should not come out of their houses unless it is very necessary like going to the hospital or going to grocery shops.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Director Robert Gordon issued an Emergency Order on April 2 setting a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for violating the orders.
