On January 7, 2020, Mercedes Benz officially launched its new Vision AVTR (Advanced Vehicle Transformation) inspired by the film Avatar. The car can reportedly move sideways by approximately 30 degrees in contrast to conventional vehicles. This sideways movement was referred to as a crab movement that gave a reptile-like appearance to the car.
