The match saw the highest ever opening day viewership ever on television and digital viewership in the history of IPL. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, BCCI has managed to host this T20 tournament in UAE successfully. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also tweeted about the new record set up by the opening match of Dream11 IPL.
