U.S. Army is discharging immigrant recruits in 2019.

A letter by U.S Representative Joaquin Castro to U.S Secretary of State James Mattis confirms discharging of recruits took place in 2018, not in 2019.

A letter by U.S Representative Joaquin Castro to U.S Secretary of State James Mattis confirms discharging of recruits took place in 2018, not in 2019.Congressman Joaquin Castro, from the 20th district of Texas in the House of Representatives, had written a letter dated 13 July 2018, to the secretary of Defense James Mattis, expressing concerns over the Citizenship status of the discharged Immigrant recruits who enrolled under the Military Accessions Vital to National Interest (MAVNI) program.

The Associated Press had previously reported on 6 July 2018 that the Army was discharging immigrant recruits from the army. In a later article dated 10 August 2018 published by them, it was claimed that the Army has temporarily halted the discharging of Immigrants from the military.

A letter written by the Chief of Army reserves, Marshall M Williamson in a memorandum for the Deputy Chief of Staff G-1, he has ordered the temporary suspension of separation actions. This confirms the AP News report.

This news published by Associated Press, which has been cited by the National Public Radio (NPR) is making rounds in the Social media in mid-2019. However, there is no report of the separation action for Immigrants being restarted by the army.
