The data of loans provided for various projects by the World Bank confirms that it has lent money to the Government of India under IBRD and IDA.The World Bank has provided a list of all the projects approved to provide loans to India between 26 May 2014 till up to date. Out of these 88 projects, a majority have been completed and the rest are either active, dropped or in the pipeline. India owes the International Development Association(IDA) more than $1.1 billion for 21 projects undertaken between 2014 to date. Furthermore, India owes the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development(IBRD) over $2.3 billion for 11 projects.

Press release by the Ministry of Finance on 24 January 2020 states that the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra and the World Bank signed a loan agreement of USD 210 million to support smallholder farmers participate in competitive agriculture value chains, increase market access and productivity in focus commodities in the state of Maharashtra.

Recently, the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors on 2 April 2020, approved an amount of $1 billion for 'India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project' to help India prevent, detect, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
