Zurich Airport International and the UP government finalized the official name of Jewar airport as 'Noida International Greenfield Airport.'On Dec. 18, 2020, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adithyanath approved the official name, logo, and design of the Jewar International Airport. The airport's official title will be Noida International Greenfield Airport. The logo would be a flying posture of the state bird crane, which indicates connectivity. In Nov. 2019, Zurich Airport International AG (ZAIA) won the agreement to build and operate the airport.
The airport's construction will be completed in four phases and is expected to be constructed on 5,000 hectares of land. The government has currently acquired 1334 hectares for construction, and the remaining land would be obtained in a phased manner. The project will start with two runways and can have up to 5 runways in the following years.
