Denmark Ambassador to India has called out the news published by The Hindu as not valid.On September 28, 2020, the Indian PM Narendra Modi and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen held a virtual bilateral discussion where both countries agreed to elevate relations to a Green Strategic Partnership. The Danish Prime Minister also touched upon the Covid-19 issue in India and conveyed her sentiment to Modi, saying, 'The situation is very difficult.' She also noted that the scale at which it is being handled in India could not be imagined and expressed appreciation for PM Modi's leadership.

A report published by The Hindu misquoted the Denmark PM as saying that India's COVID-19 scenario is very difficult. The Denmark Ambassador to India, Freddy Svane, denied the same and stated that the news agency twisted the statements of the Danish PM and it was not true. Later, the newspaper removed the tweet and said that a revised story would be linked in the next tweet.
