A minor Hindu boy, a resident of Bela Dih village of Katiya in Gopalganj, Bihar, was allegedly killed and his body was thrown into a nearby river.

He said that none of the residents from the village claimed that the incident was the communal overtones. The police were investigating that the death was premeditated murder or accidental drowning. Meanwhile, the few cattle grazers near the river said that the five children had gone for swimming in the river and they had not seen the sixth person at the spot. Further, the doctor who has performed the postmortem and other forensic experts suggested the death was due to drowning. Therefore, DGP also requested people to refrain from promoting rumours on the case.
