Afghanistan cricket team captain Mohammed Nabi is sponsoring the Afghan team for the ICC T20 world cup 2021.

Sediki Group is the official sponsorer for the Afghan Cricket team.

Sediki Group is the official sponsorer for the Afghan Cricket team. The T20 world cup tournament is taking place in UAE, and Afghanistan has qualified to play in the marquee event. There was uncertainty over the future of the cricket team when the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in August.

A social media post is viral claiming that Afghanistan cricket captain Mohammad Nabi is bearing the entire team's expenditure because the Taliban refused to sponsor the team for the ongoing ICC T20 world cup. We found this claim to be false.

The Afghan Cricket team is sponsored by Sediki Group, a reputable domestic and foreign trade company. The group had secured the team's sponsorship rights by paying the highest bid price of $450,000. Further, a news report said that the Taliban supported the cricket team and had pledged to address the players' concerns.

We mark the claim as false as the Afghan Cricket team does have a sponsor, and the Taliban is backing the cricket team.
