The claim regarding the death of all technicians who worked at the Wuhan lab is part of a fake viral WhatsApp message that is baseless.A claim about the death of lab technicians in Wuhan had gone viral, and the message is attributed to Tasuku Honjo, Professor of Kyoto University. The University released a statement saying that Dr. Tasuku Honjo had never made such a statement. There was also a rumor regarding Chinese virologist Shi Zhengli’s absence since December, which she dismissed on WeChat. Furthermore, we did not find any credible media outlets reporting on the death of any technician from the Wuhan lab. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
