Many have wished for their well being including the 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Hillary and Bill Clinton both tweeted wishing Trump and the first lady a "speedy recovery."

Some Twitter users found that a former staff member of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Zara Rahim tweeted a message on her verified account. She said that she hopes President Donald Trump dies after announcing that he tested positive for the coronavirus. The tweet was deleted shortly after being published. However, several people have seen the tweet and shared across social media and have met with condemnation. The tweet was also falsely attributed to Hillary Clinton.
