The Republican from Bolivar had received meals and gifts worth $2,752 since January 2017, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, citing the commission’s records. That includes $1,350 worth of memorial coins from lobbyist Jorgen Schlemeier, representing an alphabet soup of trade groups and organizations extending from the state's auto dealers to the St. Louis Zoo. It also included several meals with other lobbyists, including former House Speaker Steve Tilley and former Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey. During this time, Parson earned a taxpayer-paid salary of $86,400 and did not respond to multiple requests for comment as per the report.
