TTD chairperson, Subba Reddy, dismissed the claim that he practices Christianity and declared that he is a devout Hindu.
Several social media users circulated a screenshot of an updated news clip from The Hans India in 2019. It was reported that Reddy took part in prayers at a church in Tangatur, where he allegedly said that "everyone should follow Jesus' path".
In an interview with the local Telugu media outlet TV9 on June 7, 2019, Reddy refuted the claim, saying, "I was born a Hindu and I will die a Hindu. These allegations and smear campaign against me hurt me deeply". He added that Jagan put in a request asking if "I should serve as TTD chairperson for a few days and then go to the Rajya Sabha as the elections were still some time away".
However, there are no videos or news articles that report that Reddy is a Christian.
