There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim. The Indian and Chinese troops have been engaged in standoffs at several locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since 5 May 2020. Indian National Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari had tweeted that the Chinese Army could have occupied 40-60 km of Indian territory. Moreover, according to Ajai Shukla, a defense analyst and a retired Colonel of Indian Army, China captured 60 sq. km. of Indian-patrolled territory between May and June 2020. However, the Indian defense minister, when asked about the reports of incursion by Chinese troops, said that India would not allow others to infringe on its sovereignty.
