On December 16, 2020, the result has firmly placed the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) party in the lead, which crossed the majority.

The LDF won a big majority in all three tiers of the panchayats, with wins in 514 of the 941 gram panchayats, 10 of the 14 district panchayats, and 108 of the 152 block panchayats. In Corporations, the LDF achieved a simple majority in Kozhikode, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram and has become the single largest party in Kochi. The Congress-led party UDF came in second, followed by the BJP.
