The Bihar government does not have any arrangements to manage the COVID-19 crisis.

Videos of the COVID-19 hospital in Bihar featuring patients' ailing conditions show that the government was under-prepared for the crisis.

Videos of the COVID-19 hospital in Bihar featuring patients' ailing conditions show that the government was under-prepared for the crisis. Bihar has recorded over 40 thousand COVID-19 cases, with over 200 deaths. Several videos have been circulating online from the designated hospitals in Patna portraying hospitals' unhygienic conditions. The videos were captured by an infected person's family members, complaining about the absence of nurses and doctors in the hospitals. The videos claim that the patients were not admitted immediately to assist the patients despite having free beds. The videos also showed that the corpse was not removed from the wards, laying beside the patients under treatment.

The hospitals in Bihar's poor conditions indicate that the government was under-prepared to cope with the increasing COVID-19 cases.

On July 29, the government of Bihar appointed Pratyay Amrit as the new principal secretary (health) to tackle the ongoing issue of Covid-19, the third such placement within a span of two and a half months. Nitish Kumar has also been under attack from the opposition for the alleged mismanagement of Covid-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
