According to a report from Airwars, President Donald Trump has bombed Yemen more heavily than Obama or Bush.
U.S. activity in Yemen peaked in 2017, with 133 airstrikes officially declared. Indeed, days after taking office, Trump ordered a strike that caused "significant civilian harm" and also cost the lives of Navy Seal Chief Petty Officer William Ryan Owens and eight-year-old U.S. citizen Nawar al-Awlaki. "Since 2017," Business Insider reports, "the US has admitted to killing between 4 to 12 civilians, although the real number could be as high as 154."
With regards to Yemen, the Obama and Bush administrations were not free from controversy. Airwars writes that, under Obama and Bush, there were 150 “confirmed” strikes on the country. U.S. cluster bombs—a controversial type of weapon that put civilians at risk by releasing small bomblets over a wide area—killed 35 women and children in 2009.
