False news circulated that the ministry helped him get a passport under the Economic Citizen Programme of the Pakistani government.

On August 28 this year, the government of Dominican Republic clarified that Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar is not and has never been a citizen of the country. It added that Dawood didn't acquire citizenship of CoD neither through the investment program nor by any other means.
