FridaysforFuture's website was blocked in July in 2020; the Delhi Police later withdrew the notice issued under the UAPA.
On July 8, 2020, Delhi police had asked the Internet service provider to block FridaysForFuture's Indian website stating that the site depicts objectionable contents and unlawful activities or terrorist acts, dangerous for the peace, tranquillity, and sovereignty of India. It was said in the notice that the Minister was getting multiple emails on his official email address with the subject name similar to “EIA 2020”. Following the notice, the website was blocked by the ISP. FridaysForFuture via Twitter had reported that their website was blocked without any notice.
Later on July 23, DCP Anyesh Roy told the media that the notice was sent inadvertently; it was modified and sent to the ISP on July 12, 2020, which did not mention UAPA but only sections of the IT Act. He added that the notice too was withdrawn on July 16, 2020.
