There are many confirmed clustered COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, but if the coronavirus has spread amongst the community cannot be verified currently.Sources state that the city and three other districts in the Mumbai would be part of a Presence Across Nation (pan) India seroprevalence study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to measure the community spread of Covid-19. Samples from 10 randomly selected households from seven city wards were collected on April 29 and 30 in the first phase. Further, the articles stated that the study across 85 districts from 25 states collected data from a mix of hotspots and from less affected areas.

Mumbai has been picked as a hotspot while Beed, Parbhani and Nanded that have one positive case each, will represent less-affected regions.

The Coronavirus positive case update posted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on its Twitter states that a total of 11,464 cases have been reported in Mumbai as of 3 May 2020.

However, there is no official report released by the ICMR or the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to prove weather coronavirus has spread amongst communities in the Mumbai.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
