According to health experts and numerous studies on COVID-19, around 99 percent of Americans who died from the virus were not vaccinated. On July 4, Dr. Antony Fauci told NBC News that only 0.8 percent of vaccinated people died due to COVID-19, and the rest 99.2 percent were unvaccinated. He added that even though no vaccine is perfect, it can still prevent people from hospitalization and death from the pandemic. Even after getting vaccinated, there are chances of death, but the proportion would be significantly less. Even U.S. President Joe Biden, while discussing the COVID-19 response and vaccination program, also stated that several studies since May 2021 showed that COVID-19 hospitalization and death in the U.S. consisted of unvaccinated people. According to the Associated Press News, analysis from the government data of May showed that "breakthrough" infections are less than 1,200(1.1 percent) in fully vaccinated people of more than 107,000 hospitalized. That is nothing but 99 percent of hospitalization or deaths due to pandemic is from the people who had not taken a COVID-19 vaccine. The data on Seattle's King County public health department showed three deaths of vaccinated people during the most recent 80-day period, while 95 percent of the 62 deaths were among people who did not receive the jab. Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said that the vaccine is so effective that "Nearly every death, especially among adults, due to COVID-19, is, at this point, entirely preventable." U.S. News reported that according to the CDC, around 63 percent of all vaccine-eligible Americans, those aged 12 and older, had at least the first dose, and 53 percent were fully vaccinated. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
