Many bodies of the coronavirus victims were left rotting on the streets of Ecuadorian cities and towns as morgues were already filled up.
El Comercio, a local newspaper quoted Peruvian journalist Herbert Holguín who claimed that people took coronavirus lightly and continued parties in the streets and that 70 percent of the city's population was infected with the coronavirus resulting in the corpses lying on the streets left abandoned by the authorities.
South China Morning Post too reported that in Guayaquil from last few days the dead bodies were wrapped in the plastic left in the city streets with almost all morgues filled up with bodies.
