All non-essential shops and establishments remained close till March 31 in Mumbai and Pune over the COVID-19 outbreak.Given the COVID-19 crisis, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had ordered compulsory closure of all non-essential shops and offices in Mumbai and Pune on 20 March 2020. He had further added that the number of employees who worked in government offices would be reduced from the existing 50% to 25%. Establishments which reminded open were banks, and shops selling medicines, food items, milk, and vegetable. Transportation services like Taxi, autorickshaws, and buses were allowed with some restrictions.
