The central government filed an affidavit against the RBI's circular, but whether the petition specifically favored Gautam Adani cannot be verified.The RBI issued a notice stating that any company with over Rs 2,000 crore of bank dues should be declared bankrupt if it did not clear the debts within 180 days. The order was challenged in Allahabad High court by the private power producers, including Adani power. The petitioners had challenged the order arguing that the 180-day period is too short. The Centre also filed an affidavit in the court, saying that it did not agree with the order.
