But by the evening, the Army revised the figure to 20 and said that 17 others, who were critically injured in the line of duty and exposed to sub-zero temperatures at the standoff location, succumbed to their injuries. This is the first deadly clash in the border area between India and China in 45 years.
Chinese troops allegedly suffered 43 casualties during the face-off with the Indian Army at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), but there is no official confirmation. It alleged that provocative attacks launched by the Indian troops resulted in clashes and casualties.
