He was also a National Olympiad Winner in Physics and had cleared eleven engineering entrance examinations including that of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

Sushant had completed three out of the four-year engineering course at DTU before he dropped out to pursue a career in acting.

He continued to harbour a keen interest in physics and astronomy even after he had become a successful actor. The actor had also expressed his desire to perform the double-slit experiment in physics and had visited CERN in 2019, both of which were his bucket list goals. He died of suicide on June 14, 2020.
