Red mercury in old equipments cost in crores.

The red mercury hoax has been going around the internet for decades and the substance doesn't actually exist.

The red mercury hoax has been going around the internet for decades and the substance doesn't actually exist.Decades of investigation into terrorist organizations acquiring radiological materials and falling prey to scams involving items such as "red mercury" have found that no such material exists. In 2002, a report written by John R. Bolton, then Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security conclusively said "there is no such thing as red mercury".

A message was shared widely on social media with a claim that red mercury, a chemical used in manufacturing nuclear weapons, can be found in old televisions and radios. The rumor states that the liquid is worth crores. Although there was no chemical such as red mercury, there was red-colored mercury-containing the ore mercury sulphide, a BBC report found. It was harmful not because it's highly explosive, but because plain old mercury is hazardous to health. There are also various instances where police arrested scammers who tried to cheat people by selling them.
