They were stuck in traffic caused by protests over George Floyd’s death. Young was charged with attempting to avoid the officers and later Mayor Keisha Lance ordered to drop his charges. Following the incident, two officers were fired after police Chief Erika Shields determined that they had used excessive force, and the other four officers were placed on administrative leave.
