Facebook's press release proves that it has filed a lawsuit in federal court in California against Basant Gajjar for running deceptive advertising.A statement issued by Jessica Romero, Director of Platform Enforcement and Litigation on 9 April 2020 states that a lawsuit filed against Basant Gajjar an Indian-American techie based in Thailand for violating the Facebook terms and policies using the name LeadCloak by providing cloaking software, services which were designed for ad review system. Cloaking is a wrong intended technique that hides the true content of ads and presents something different on the surface for users on the platform and prevents Facebook’s review process from identifying improper ads.

Further, LeadCloak has been offering cloaking services since 2016, targeting firms including Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google, Oath, Wordpress and Shopify Inc (SHOP.TO).
