BJP registered a complaint against Mamata Banerjee for not disclosing six criminal cases while filing nominations from the Nandigram constituency. On March 15, 2021, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari filed an official complaint with Election Commission against West Bengal CM Banerjee over a false declaration in the nomination papers. He claimed six criminal cases are impending against the Bengal CM, whereas in her nomination affidavit, Banerjee has not declared the cases. Suvendu said, "Mamata Banerjee is a TMC candidate, and in her affidavit, she has not mentioned six criminal cases. This involves five FIRs from Assam in 2018 and one CBI FIR,"

The BJP filed another case with EC over Trinamool supremo Banerjee's comments against Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other party senior leaders. BJP alleged that Banerjee made a "false and disparaging" statement against senior BJP leaders, reports India Today. NDTV reports that during a rally in Purba Medinipur district on March 20, Banerjee referring to Suvendu Adhikari, said that she was relieved as "Mir Zafars" left her party before assembly elections and termed BJP as "party of feudal lords."
