Satellite images from February 17 show that Myanmarese protestors painted "we want democracy" on roads.
The police used water cannon against the protesters, but many continued to gather in Mandalay, breaching Myanmar's new military ruler's judgments in recent weeks.
Protesters have used posters, banners, artworks, digital projections, and street murals with text that reads "respect our vote", "we want democracy," and "no dictatorship."
On February 17, space technology company Maxar Technologies released satellite images of Mandalay's street murals, which were also reported by international news media.
News website the Irrawaddy has published images of the street murals photographed from closer ranges. Its coverage includes details of the continued protests, and the news site also tweeted images of authorities washing away the murals.
