Captain Moore originally aimed to raise just £1,000 for NHS Charities together by completing laps of his garden before his 100th birthday. He completed 100 laps of the 25-metre (82ft) loop in his garden in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire with the help of a walking frame.

Update: A previous version of this fact-check stated that the funds raised by Tom Moore were £12 million. However, as of 20 April 2020, additional information about the claim has revealed that the funds for the NHS have been raised to £23 million.
