An animation video created by a Tamil news channel is falsely claimed as satellite imagery of the helicopter crash involving General Bipin Rawat.India's Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and other service members died when the Mi-17V5 helicopter crashed near Coonoor in Tamilnadu. It is not clear how the accident took place, and a tri-service inquiry has been ordered to find the discrepancies of the crash.

Amid this, many on the internet are speculating about the cause of the accident. A video of a chopper crashing into the hills has gone viral, claiming those are satellite visuals of the crash that killed CDS Rawat, his wife, and 12 others. We found those are not actual visuals but animation.

The viral video was first aired by News 7, a Tamil news channel that depicted the crash scene. The channel did not claim that it was satellite imagery. It was just an animation created to explain the incident to its audience.
