Donald Trump backed "The Platinum Plan" for Black Americans, which focused on economic empowerment, education, and healthcare.
The Platinium Plan was essentially a set of economic goals and promises. Politico notes that some criticized it for being only two pages long. In the Platinum Plan were promises to invest in Black-run businesses, to increase access to capital for Black entrepreneurs, to provide $500 billion in federal contracting opportunities in Black communities, and to create three million new jobs for Black people. Others were to create 500,000 new black-owned businesses, to create safe urban neighborhoods, to establish better and cheaper healthcare, and also to improve access to education and job training opportunities.
The Platinum Plan also proposed that the Ku Klux Klan would be prosecuted as a terrorist organization, but also AntiFa. It also said that Juneteenth — the day on which enslaved people were emancipated — would be recognized as a national holiday.
