Jodan had reportedly told CNN that he believed Gaetz was innocent but no original footage or reporting of the remark can be found. The U.S. Republican Senator Matt Gaetz was accused of a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl in 2019. The news was first reported by New York Times. Gaetz is undergoing federal investigation over the abuse. According to the report, the inquiry against Gaetz was started during the Trump administration. While talking with NY Times, Gaetz denied the allegations and mentioned that "he hadn't committed any improper acts with an underage girl and stated that his family is the victim of an extortion racket."

According to some media reports, while in a talk with the CNN correspondent Ryan Nobles, Jordan had reportedly said: "Gaetz shouldn't be removed from the judiciary committee."

Several trusted new sites reported the incident, but there is no original reporting or footage of the interview in question to confirm whether Jim made the statement about Gaetz. We will update this fact check if more reporting becomes available.
