The retail operations of Reliance stand to gain from the three new farm laws.

No evidence or report states that Reliance could gain from the implementation of the three new agriculture laws.

No evidence or report states that Reliance could gain from the implementation of the three new agriculture laws. The farmers in India have been protesting against three bills and have touted them as 'anti-farmer bills.' These bills -- the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill; the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, were passed in Lok Sabha amid protests from the opposition in Sept. 2020.

Reliance Jio approached the telecom regulator, saying that both Airtel and Vodafone-Idea were directly or indirectly involved in spreading false rumors of Reliance being an undue beneficiary of the farm bills, recently passed by the government of India.

In a letter to India's Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI), Jio alleged that the two companies were running a false propaganda campaign to attract its subscribers. The company received many port cancellation requests. The customers have cited that 'Reliance is benefiting from the farm bills' is the sole reason for porting out of Jio, the letter stated.

In response to the complaint by Jio, both Bharti Airtel and VodafoneIdea indeed denied the charge as baseless.
