The Vivo spokesperson also stated that the association might resume in the 2021 IPL. The decision was made due to a backlash on social media about BCCI holding over Vivo's title sponsorship in the virtual meeting held on August 2, 2020. The BCCI floated a tender to invite a new title sponsor for the 2020 IPL match.
