Only 59 COVID-19 patients are being treated at the Sardar Patel COVID center in Delhi.

The data compiled by the ITBP is currently available and hence we cannot objectively verify the veracity of this claim.

The data compiled by the ITBP is currently available and hence we cannot objectively verify the veracity of this claim. Sardar Patel COVID center was established on June 25 to bolster the containment measures in Delhi with 10,000-beds. The entire operation of this Centre, including ensuring requisite numbers of medical personnel, has been entrusted to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

According to the report by ANI, only 59 patients are currently being treated at the center. The report indicated the data compiled by the ITBP, which reportedly stated that the center had the lowest number of patients at a time, less than 100 patients from the past four days.

The same data had further indicated that it was for the first time the number of patients had reached close to 50. The data had also reflected that since July 5, 11749 patients were treated at the center, and 11374 were discharged. A total of 69 patients were under treatment, and ten were discharged on Dec.21.

However, neither is the ITBP data available nor have any other credible sources independently verified these statistics. Thus, we cannot verify this claim at the current time.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
