The salary details tweeted by the organisation 'Physicians for a National Health Program' and an article by Fierce Healthcare supports the claim.Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) had disclosed the salary details of all Chief Executive Officer of private health Insurance companies for the year 2015 where it included salary, non-equity incentive pay and all other compensation which were all in tens and hundreds of thousands, and millions.

Fierce Healthcare, in its news article, also showed the details of annual compensation for the CEO's as follows: Cigna's David Cordani ($17.3 million), UnitedHealth's Stephen Hemsley ($14.5 million), Anthem's Joseph Swedish ($13.6 million) and Aetna's Mark Bertolini ($17.3 million).

Therefore, American private health insurance companies took home millions in profits in 2015.
