According to App Annie's data, Garena Free Fire was the most downloaded game globally in the first nine months of 2020, followed by PUBG Mobile and Subway Surfers.

Garena Free Fire is a battle royale game developed by 111 Dots Studio and published by Garena for Android and iOS. There has been an increase in the number of people downloading Free Fire after India's PUBG app ban. As of May 2020, Free Fire had set a record with over 80 million daily active users globally.

Nearly 17 percent of the 7.3 billion downloads came from India, followed by the U.S. with 10 percent and Brazil 8 percent.

Google Play downloads grew by more than 40 percent in the first nine months compared to last year, while Apple’s App Store installs rose 16 percent compared to 2019. Over the next few years, the pandemic will likely increase the number of downloads through to 2024 above pre-COVID-19 estimates.
