Vivo will remain a sponsor for IPL matches.

Vivo, a title sponsor for the Indian Premier League 2020 has dropped out of sponsorship for this year.

Vivo, a title sponsor for the Indian Premier League 2020 has dropped out of sponsorship for this year.Vivo India had bagged the IPL title sponsorship rights for five years in 2017 for Rs 2199 crore and committed to paying the league approximately Rs 440 crore every season. The IPL Governing Council had decided to retain the Chinese company Vivo as title sponsors of the tournament to be played in UAE. It caused a significant backlash on social media because of the military stand-off between the two nations at Galwan Valley in which twenty Indian soldiers were killed. The central government had also banned a whole host of Chinese apps. However, a BCCI source was quoted as saying that the company may be a sponsor for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023 instead.
