Joe Biden as Vice President had said that U.S. forces would leave Afghanistan in 2014.

Joe Biden had said American troops would leave Afghanistan by 2014 but later said that U.S. forces would remain in Afghanistan if necessary. The US forces have been deployed in Afghanistan, and the US had been investing substantial resources in setting up and running training facilities for the Afghan army and police.

Joe Biden, who was then serving as a Vice President to Barack Obama, on December 19, 2010, had vowed that they would take out American troops from Afghanistan by 2014 at every cost as they were starting off the training process in 2011.

However, during his first visit to Afghanistan in 2011, Biden backtracked from his earlier statement to pull out the troops and said that US forces would not leave Afghanistan if the Afghan people do not want them to go. He had also assured that America would not abandon them and will always try to help them in the future in other areas as well.
