The government order confirms the extension of lockdown till 31 May but flights will resume operations from 25 May.Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had tweeted that they had further extended the lockdown till 31 May 2020, under the Disaster Management (DM) Act, 2005 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier, the Maharashtra government had said that there is no decision to let flight operations start from 25 May in the state. But later, the state government agreed to commence flight operations and agreed to allow 25 takeoffs and 25 landings every day for domestic flights from Mumbai. A directive was issued, and reports quoted State Minister Nawab Malik as saying that the number of flights will be increased gradually.
