T-Mobile is expected to sunset its 2G and 3G networks soon because of limited spectrum availability.T-Mobile's internal documents obtained by the Android Police show that the company is planning to fast track shutting down its 3G network and will require all new devices on the network to support VoLTE.

Boy Genius Report, a technology website reported that T-Mobile would shut down its 3G network in January 2021.

Though T-Mobile has not issued a public statement regarding the date they plan to shutter their 2G and 3G network, many speculate that they will sunset their old networks sometime in 2020 or 2021, BGR said.
