Junaid Azim Mattu was removed as the mayor of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) after he lost a no-confidence motion moved against him.

Junaid Azim Mattu was removed as the mayor of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) after he lost a no-confidence motion moved against him.On June 16, 2020 Junaid Azim Mattu was removed as the mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) after reportedly losing a no-confidence motion moved against him. The no confidence motion against him was supported by 42 votes among the 70 councillors of the SMC.

Mattu belongs to the Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference led by former MLA Sajjad Ghani Lone.
