Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was arrested in Mumbai following a raid at the Mumbai Dragonfly club near the Mumbai airport on Dec. 22, 2020. The Maharashtra Government had imposed a night curfew in the municipal corporation areas amid concerns that the new variant of COVID-19 might hit the state. The new variant was first seen in the U.K in late September. Maharashtra will see night curfews until Jan. 5, 2021.

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and a few of his friends were arrested from the Dragonfly Club in Andheri on Dec. 22, 2020. A quick raid was conducted by the Mumbai police at around 2.30 a.m. when people were seen partying at the club.

The police confirmed that the former cricketer, along with over 30 others, was arrested and charged. They were released on bail. Upon his release, Suresh Raina issued a statement and said that he was not aware of the local rules in Mumbai and that he went out for a quick dinner with his friend before taking his flight back to Delhi.
