Clarification issued by CFTRI Director Dr KSMS Raghavarao confirms that Spirulina Chikkies is not a cure for COVID-19.In a press release dated 11 May 2020, the Director of the Institute rejected the false claim made by some TV channels that Spirulina Chikkies is a cure for COVID-19. He clarified that the news is far from the truth, and CFTRI had never claimed to cure the disease. He said the Chikkies are supplements for nutrients that help in building immunity and was developed for combating malnutrition in children.
