A video of actor Rakul Preet Singh buying medicines and essentials from a medical store is falsely claimed as Deepika Padukone buying liquor.A video claiming that Deepika Padukone had stepped out to buy liquor during the lockdown period goes viral in social media.

From the visual, it is clear that the woman seen in the video is not holding a liquor bottle. However, the same video was shared on multiple YouTube channels with a different caption stating that Rakul Preet is buying alcohol during the lockdown period. Also, the woman in the video is not Deepika Padukone but Rakul Preet Singh. In fact, Rakul Preet on 7 May 2020, through a tweet cited the same video and dismissed the claim where she clarified that she was buying medicine from a medical and provisions store.

Hence, the video of actress Rakul Preet Singh is misidentified and falsely narrated as Deepika Padukone buying liquor.
