A fake audio clip purporting to be of Geeta Jain was circulated by an impostor claiming that the government was making corrupt deals due to COVID-19.The audio clip was circulated on various social media platforms impersonating Maharastra MLA Geeta Jain from Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).

The audio clip claimed that civic body corporations were diagnosing false-positive cases of COVID-19, and were making corrupt deals.

The woman in the audio clip gave out misleading advice to deal with COVID-19 infection without consulting doctors or visiting medical facilities.

Geeta Jain clarified in her Facebook video that she did not record the audio clip and that it was fake. She also urged people only to follow the instructions given by the government and Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC).

She has also filed a complaint in Navghar police in Bhayander against the unidentified person for mimicking her voice.
